Investments in Celebrity Autographs

Celebrity autographs make super investments. In the past it may have been difficult to find your favorite celebrity autograph but with the coming of the Internet it has become quite a lot easier to purchase celebrity autographs for your investment portfolio.

Just as with anything else on the Internet it's vital that you understand what is authentic, and what is fake when it comes to your celebrity autographs. You'll need to thoroughly know your celebrity, know their handwriting, and perhaps know their signature or even a variety of signatures that they may use.

Be sure to use common sense when it comes to bargains with celebrity autographs. Not only should you check for all of the correct spellings, but also if its a really good deal, there's a good chance it's not such a good deal. You'll often find misspellings in fake celebrity autographs, the first name is spelled wrong, the last name is spelled wrong, or there's an extra letter or an absence of one. Be sure that you know your celebrity well enough to know exactly how they spell their name.

Also, be conscious of the type of material or picture that the celebrity autograph is on. It's highly doubtful that some of the older celebrities are going to be on laser printed material, and the same can be said for really old photographs, there won't be a reprint on it all it'll be an actual picture.

Be aware of what secretaries are signing for the celebrities, often, a secretary will sign a bunch of autographs and mail them out. Most of these autographs that are signed by others are not going to be worth much if anything at all.

Some of the big-name stars actually keep track of the actual autograph signings. They'll make sure that they have names and addresses in order to keep the worth of their personal autographs high. It's an authentication process, so if you're purchasing an autograph from one of these types of celebrities you'll be able to authenticate it with their autograph list.

You'll also want to be aware and take into consideration that not every celebrity's autograph is going to be worth something. Some of the very high earning celebrities are worth a lot, those that were famous and died young are worth money, and sometimes those young artists who are sure to head for long-term stardom are going to be worth money.

It may be hard to get authentic autographs. However, some celebrities offer their autographs through contests, to fans who are members of their fanclubs or website, or even to a few special fans who have done something out of the ordinary. Focus on the celebrities that you really like, secure their autographs anyway, and if by chance they end up worth something that's great, but if not you still have one of your favorite celebrity's autographs.
